Corot Study: Spearfish SD

$150.00

Corot Study, Spearfish

Corot Study, Spearfish grows out of looking at landscape through the memory of Corot—less as a depiction of a particular view than as an accumulation of atmosphere, light, and sensation.

A bright yellow sun settles into the center of the image while dark, almost architectural forms interrupt the surrounding greens. Loose, wandering lines move through trees, water, and vegetation, sometimes describing recognizable forms and sometimes becoming marks in their own right. Small points of intense color punctuate the softer, weathered surface.

The image holds observation and memory together: a real landscape transformed through drawing, recollection, and invention. Printed on canvas, its layered marks and textured fields move the digital image toward the physical presence of a painting.

Created on iPad and printed on canvas.
