The large format printer at Poor Farm Studios LLC. An Epson P9570

I create a lot of work using my iPad. For me, the iPad is just like a drawing pad or sketchbook, but with a whole set of unique capabilities. I find that it combines different media in different ways. I can create the effects of painting or drawing using pastels or brushes in unexpected combinations that are not possible with traditional, analog processes. Being a process-aware artist, I also work to keep my iPad work obvious. I don’t try to make them seamless or look like a photo. I allow the weird glitches and awkward qualities to be part of the final image. To finish my work, I invested in a large-format printer. With that printer, I can print this work on a variety of surfaces, including primed canvas.
