Neruda’s Castle
2018
Watercolor on 300 lb. Arches rough paper
Neruda’s Castle emerged from a trip to Chile and from the lingering presence of place after travel. A dense field of blue marks surrounds a fragile, fiery structure that seems to hover between architecture and memory. The watercolor shifts between atmosphere and image, allowing the “castle” to appear almost as an apparition—something remembered, imagined, and rebuilt through paint.
